
The People’s Defense Force (PDF) information officer Ko Than Mani has announced that a drug dealer was arrested with 5,200 WY stimulant tablets in Sintguu Township, Mandalay Region. According to reports, on March 14, following information about drug dealing activities, PDF forces conducted a raid at the residence of Pyae Sone Htay in Nat Taung village, Sintguu Township, under the direction of the township PDF commander. During the search operation, authorities discovered and seized 5,200 WY stimulant tablets, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The arrested suspect, Pyae Sone Htay, has been transferred to the Sintguu Township Administration Office for further legal proceedings. Officials stated that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other suspects connected to this case. The PDF has also announced their commitment to continuing efforts to eliminate criminal activities and drug trafficking within the township. Additionally, authorities are currently investigating and gathering intelligence about military informants hiding in Sintguu Township, with plans to arrest and take action against them.
In a related incident on March 12, security forces at a joint checkpoint on the Monywa-Yagyi Road in Kani Township, Sagaing Region, intercepted and seized more than 200,000 WY stimulant tablets being transported from northern Shan State. The suspect, identified as Thein Hla (45 years old) from Rakhine State’s Maungdaw Township, was found carrying drugs concealed in his motorcycle’s frame and hidden beneath explosive powder. Each package contained 10,000 tablets, and authorities also seized three identification documents from the suspect – two Myanmar citizenship cards and one Thai identification card. The case has been transferred to relevant authorities for further investigation and legal action.
