The People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Ayeyarwady Township has confirmed that a drone strike targeting the military council’s General Administration Office and northern checkpoint in Chaung-U town, Sagaing Region, resulted in military casualties. The attack was carried out at 12:38 PM on March 27, with three bombs dropped via drone on the military installations. According to the PDF spokesperson, the operation specifically targeted two locations where the military council forces had established strongholds.
The attack details reveal that one bomb was dropped on the General Administration Office and two bombs targeted the northern checkpoint. While casualties were confirmed at the northern checkpoint, the exact number of casualties could not be immediately verified. The spokesperson disclosed that approximately 70 military council personnel were stationed between the two locations combined. Following the attack, military council forces responded with indiscriminate heavy and small arms fire in the surrounding area. The strike was conducted by the Northern Division of the Ayeyarwady Township People’s Defense Force, and all resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the operation without any casualties.
This operation represents ongoing efforts to control military council movements within the Sagaing Region and protect local civilians. The targeted locations were strategic positions used by the military council to maintain their presence in the area. The successful execution of this operation demonstrates the increasing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting precision strikes against military council installations. The use of drone technology has become an increasingly important tactical element in the resistance movement’s efforts to challenge military council control while minimizing civilian casualties and maintaining operational security.
