MANDALAY DIVISION – An official from Taungtha Township People’s Defence Force (PDF) reported that a building collapsed and the staff houses caught on fire after they bombed Waelaung Police Station using drones.
On August 25 around 1 p.m., PDF and allied forces dropped 15 grenades on Waelaung Police Station using drones, destroying one building and a house in the staff housings burned down.
“Taungtha PDF bombed Waelaung Police Station using drones. The number of grenades dropped was quite high. 15 were dropped. One of the buildings collapsed and a staff housings caught on fire. It was a huge blow to the (junta) police. We don’t know the exact casualties but there were a lot. It is said that they are very afraid in there. The attack started around 1 p.m. till the evening,” said the official from Taungtha Township PDF.
Former Minister of Industry 1 Aung Thaung was a native of Waelaung, and there also natives serving in the junta army, navy and air force. There are also Pyu Saw Htee bases in the villages of Kyaikpar, Ywathit, Htanaungkone and Taputsu around Waelaung.
