
The leader of the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force has reported that resistance forces conducted drone attacks on military council reinforcement routes and positions during the battle to capture the MRTV broadcasting tower hill station in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, likely resulting in military casualties. The attacks began at 8:30 AM on February 26, with resistance forces deploying 18 drones to target military positions at GTC checkpoint, Ma-U checkpoint, Swan Yay Htet gas station, and Taw Pu Pyu Saw Htee village.
The attacks targeted areas where approximately 40 military council troops were stationed, though exact casualty figures for the military council forces remain unknown. The resistance forces lost one drone during the operation. The joint operation involved multiple resistance groups including Chindwin Dynamite, Yinmabin District Battalion 35 Branch 3 Red Wing Special Guerrilla Force, Monywa District Battalion 24 Drone Force, SSTF, KLG, and the Brave Heart Army. The resistance groups are seeking support from domestic and international supporters to replace the lost drone equipment used in the battle.
Additionally, on February 27 at 3:55 PM, the Northern Division of the Ye-U Township People’s Defense Force conducted a drone attack on military council forces constructing a bunker along the Mu River bank in Aung Mingala ward, Ye-U town. The group being targeted was believed to include Pyu Saw Htee militia members, military council soldiers, and police personnel, though specific damage assessment from the attack remains unclear, according to the People’s Defense Force coordinator.
