
A drone attack was carried out against the military council forces who entered Pinday Pin – Ngalin Pan village in Salin Township, Magway Region, resulting in casualties on the military side, according to an official from the People’s Defense Force Battalion-5 of Minbu District. On May 15 at approximately 5:50 PM, around 200 military council troops entered and set up camp in Pinday Pin village.
During their encampment, the Drone Strike Team from the People’s Defense Force Battalion-5 of Minbu District launched an attack using two drone-dropped bombs. The attack reportedly caused casualties among the military council forces, particularly hitting a house where military snipers were positioned. However, the exact number of casualties and injuries on the military council’s side could not be confirmed. Following the attack, the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw without any casualties.
The military council forces responded with indiscriminate artillery fire against civilian areas, resulting in injuries to two civilians from Gwey Pin Zin village and Sanay Chaung village. A woman around 40 years old from Sanay Chaung village was hit by artillery fire during the afternoon, and another civilian from Gwey Pin Zin village was also injured. Due to the military operations, approximately 3,000 local residents from various villages including Shwe Twin Tu, Out Line, Pinday Pin, Ngalin Pan, Gwey Kone, and Sanay Chaung have been forced to flee to safer locations. The military council’s actions have caused significant displacement and suffering among the civilian population in the area.
