
The Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) conducted a drone strike on the Central Guard Post of Infantry Battalion 591 in Kyaung Village, under the control of Strategic Operations Command 19 in Ye Township, Mon State. The attack was carried out as a commemoration of both the 78th Mon Revolution Day and the anniversary of the 8888 Uprising. According to Mi Tala Nyan, spokesperson for the MSRF, the operation took place around 11 AM on August 7th, specifically chosen to honor these two significant dates in Myanmar’s struggle for democracy.
While casualties were reported on the military council’s side, the exact numbers could not be immediately confirmed. The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the operation without sustaining any casualties. The attack was a coordinated effort between the Mon State Revolutionary Force operating under the Defense Department of the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC). Mi Tala Nyan further explained that this operation served as a tribute to those who had sacrificed their lives during the revolutionary period and demonstrated their ongoing commitment to the resistance movement.
The Mon State Revolutionary Force emphasized their dedication to protecting the security and rights of local civilians, stating their determination to continue the fight until the military dictatorship is eliminated.
