The Sagaing Federal Unit CDM Civil Servants Council has announced that Dr. Myay Soe Aung, who was killed in the military’s aerial bombing of a public clinic and homes in Hnan Khar Village, Gangow Township, Magway Region, has been designated as a Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) hero. The attack on March 22 resulted in the deaths of 11 civilians, including CDM doctor Myay Soe Aung, his pregnant wife Daw Khine Hnin Wai, and their young son.
Dr. Myay Soe Aung had been a leading participant in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) since the military coup in 2021 and was a doctor who risked his life providing public healthcare services throughout the revolution period. The Ministry of Health under the National Unity Government has also officially recognized all fallen healthcare workers as CDM heroes. The ministry strongly condemned the military council’s brutal actions and declared that they would continue to pursue justice for the deceased healthcare workers and innocent civilians who lost their lives.
The Ministry of Health explicitly stated that they would take effective legal action against the terrorist military council and their collaborators. The Sagaing Federal Unit CDM Civil Servants Council has also made a solemn pledge to continue fighting until the complete collapse of the military dictatorship and to dedicate all their efforts toward building a Federal Democratic Union. They emphasized their commitment to pursuing justice for the victims and ensuring that such brutal acts by the military council do not go unpunished, while working tirelessly to achieve their goal of establishing a truly democratic federal union in Myanmar.
