
In Pyawbwe city of Mandalay Region, a powerful earthquake that struck on March 28 has caused widespread destruction of buildings and resulted in numerous casualties, according to local residents. While rescue teams are working continuously to extract people trapped under debris following the earthquake, locals confirm that the death toll continues to rise with each passing hour.
The KBZ Bank branch in Pyawbwe, along with many other buildings, has collapsed, with reports indicating approximately 45 fatalities from the bank building alone. Additionally, with the destruction of other buildings and mosques along the streets, the total death toll is estimated to exceed one hundred. However, due to roads being blocked by debris, the exact ground situation cannot be confirmed in detail yet.
