
A dead soldier’s body was discovered in Lin Zin sub-township of Salin Township, Magway Region, after being killed by a landmine explosion. The Peacock Brothers Urban Guerrilla Force properly cremated the body. The discovery was made in the forest area between Lin Zin and Thitkauk Mountain on the morning of April 19. The body was already decomposing, and it is believed the soldier was killed by a mine while attempting to escape from his military column, according to a responsible person from the Peacock Brothers Urban Guerrilla Force.
Additionally, the Peacock Brothers Urban Guerrilla Force has detained another soldier who was injured by a mine explosion. This soldier suffered severe injuries, including lost fingers and approximately 12 stitches to his head. He reported that he had escaped along with another person. The discovered body has already been cremated. The military council’s forces from Infantry Battalion 235, under Division 101 based in Pakokku, led by Major Sit Han Naing, have been conducting operations in the Salin Township area since before the Thingyan festival and are currently stationed at Thitkauk Mountain.
The Peacock Brothers Urban Guerrilla Force has successfully rescued three soldiers who fled from this military column, with two already being transported to their desired locations. Currently, only one forced porter from Ayeyarwady Region, who was captured on April 15, remains in their custody.
