Members of the Dawei Youth Front, operating in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, held a ceremony commemorating the 78th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on June 19, 2023. During the ceremony, members of the Dawei Youth Front displayed a photograph of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and honored her with birthday cakes.
The members of the Dawei Youth Front offered prayers for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s swift release from the military council’s unjust detention. They also pledged to continue fighting alongside pro-democracy revolutionary forces to completely eliminate the military dictatorship system with all their strength. The group expressed their determination to persist in the struggle for democracy and justice.
The Dawei Youth Front has been actively participating in anti-dictatorship revolutionary activities within the Tanintharyi Region, working to protect the security and rights of local civilians while continuing their fight for the end of the military dictatorship system. The group stated that holding this birthday commemoration ceremony for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi would help boost the morale of people fighting for democracy.
