On May 8, the Daung Thwe Ni Strike Column led an anti-military dictatorship protest in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region. During the demonstration, local residents demanded an end to the military dictatorship and called for democracy, human rights, and justice. The protest was attended by youth, students, and local civilians who peacefully marched while carrying flags of the National League for Democracy, ethnic groups, and democratic forces.
The Daung Thwe Ni Strike Column is an active youth group in the anti-military dictatorship movement and has been consistently organizing protests against the military coup. They continue to demonstrate bravely despite the military council’s oppression and threats. Although the military council responds to peaceful protesters with violent crackdowns and arrests, the people remain united in their struggle for democracy. The protest in Yinmabin Township represents the ongoing resistance against military rule and the public’s unwavering commitment to achieving democratic reform in Myanmar.
