The Daung Thwe Ni (Red Peacock Blood) Strike Column conducted an anti-military dictatorship protest march in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, on May 7. The protest column, comprising civilian resistance fighters struggling for democracy and human rights, has pledged to continue their fight with all their might until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system.
During the protest, participants demanded an immediate end to the military council’s violence against civilians, the immediate release of all political prisoners, and the establishment of a genuine federal democratic system. They also condemned the war crimes and crimes against humanity being committed by the military council. The protesters expressed their commitment to continue resisting until democracy is restored in Myanmar.
The Daung Thwe Ni Strike Column conducted their protest peacefully and received support from local residents. Protesters carried signs showing support for the National Unity Government (NUG) and People’s Defense Forces (PDF), while calling for the return of power to the elected government. The demonstration highlighted the ongoing resistance against the military regime that continues to oppress the civilian population and deny fundamental democratic rights to the people of Myanmar.
