
The Daung Thwe Ni (Red Peacock Blood) Strike Column conducted a protest march against the military dictatorship in Yinmabin Township on April 3. The protest group, which has been actively working towards ending military rule and establishing democracy, carried out a peaceful demonstration in the township located in Sagaing Region.
The protesters marched while carrying flags of the National Unity Government (NUG) and various People’s Defense Forces (PDF) that are fighting for democracy. During the demonstration, participants called for the immediate end of the military dictatorship, the release of political prisoners, and the cessation of military oppression against civilians. The protest column has maintained its stance of peaceful resistance while expressing the people’s desire for genuine democratic reform.
Yinmabin Township has been one of the areas in Sagaing Region that has suffered from military offensive operations, village burnings, and violence against civilians by the military council forces. Despite these challenges, local residents have remained united in their opposition to the military dictatorship, raising their voices through organizations like the Daung Thwe Ni Strike Column. The protest demonstrates the continued resistance against military rule in the region, even in the face of ongoing oppression and security challenges.
