
People’s Defense Forces successfully captured a police outpost in Damange village, Nattalin Township, Bago Region, resulting in three military council troops killed and the seizure of various weapons and ammunition, according to an official from Battalion 3801 in Thayarwaddy District. The attack began at 3:50 AM on May 2, when joint People’s Defense Forces launched a coordinated assault on the police outpost located east of Nattalin town in Damange village. The ensuing firefight lasted approximately one hour, during which three military council troops were killed, and the remaining forces abandoned the outpost and fled.
Two injured military council soldiers were transported to Kwetthit Hospital, where one later succumbed to his injuries. After securing the outpost, People’s Defense Forces conducted a thorough clearing operation, resulting in the seizure of significant weapons and ammunition. The captured arsenal included one G3 rifle, three carbine rifles, one MA3 rifle, one 60mm mortar, nine 60mm mortar rounds, five plastic landmines, four anti-vehicle mines, and 120 rounds of G3 ammunition. This successful operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region.
The operation was carried out through the coordinated efforts of multiple resistance groups, including the People’s Defense Force, Operation Area 2, Bago Division Command, Strategy 22, Battalion 3801 Companies 2 and 6, and the Nattalin People’s Defense Force. Notably, the resistance forces completed the operation without suffering any casualties. This victory represents a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to protect local civilians and demonstrates the effectiveness of unified resistance operations against military council forces. The successful capture of the outpost and seizure of military equipment marks an important strategic victory for the resistance movement in the Bago Region, according to officials involved in the operation.
