
Two civilians were killed when the terrorist military forces launched heavy artillery attacks in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. On March 9 at 10:30 AM, military troops stationed at the Myingyan football stadium fired 9 artillery shells indiscriminately at the Setawlae village junction, with two shells hitting the area and resulting in two civilian deaths.
Additionally, the terrorist military conducted aerial attacks using armed helicopters near Thanbo village in Thaungtha Township, Mandalay Region. Around 1:30 AM on March 10, one armed helicopter from Meiktila Air Force Base dropped two bombs near the forest area northeast of Thanbo village and opened fire with machine guns.
In Gwa Township, Rakhine State, military forces conducted an airstrike on Bawin village around 1:00 AM on March 9, killing 60-year-old U Htun Aung Thein who was sleeping with his family. His 26-year-old daughter Ma May Thazin and 12-year-old son Maung Phyo Wai Soe were severely injured. Both injured victims are receiving emergency medical treatment and their conditions are reported to be critical.
Due to the military council’s aerial attacks from December 30, 2024 to February 21, 2025, a total of 98 people including prisoners of war and civilians were killed in Rakhine State, with more than 117 people injured. In January, 92 civilians were killed and 96 were injured, while in February, 6 civilians were killed and 21 were injured. On March 6, over 200 houses were destroyed by fire in U Kyin and Kyattin villages in Kyaukphyu Township, and 35 houses were burned down in Wa village in Sittwe Township.
