The terrorist military forces conducted an airstrike with fighter jets on Soke Kwin village in Sintguu Township, Mandalay Region, resulting in injuries to two civilians and damage to residential homes, according to an official from the People’s Defense Force in Pyin Oo Lwin District. The airstrike occurred at 6:55 AM on May 11, when a military council jet fighter approaching from the Tada-U area bombed the village. The attack caused severe injuries to two civilians and significant damage to local residents’ homes.
Additionally, on May 12 at approximately 9:55 AM, the military council forces conducted an airstrike on a school in Ohtein Kwin village, Depayin Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the death of two teachers and injuries to numerous schoolchildren. The bomb directly hit the school building, causing the immediate death of two female teachers, while some students suffered eye injuries and others sustained head injuries, according to a rescue worker from Depayin Township. The attack on the school has caused severe casualties among innocent civilians, particularly affecting young students and educational staff.
Despite the military council’s announcement of a nationwide ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, they continue to conduct airstrikes, heavy artillery attacks, and offensive operations across the country, as reported by ethnic armed organizations and revolutionary forces. The military council’s actions contradict their own ceasefire declaration, as they persist in targeting civilian areas with aerial bombardments and artillery fire. In response to these ongoing threats, the Pyin Oo Lwin District People’s Defense Force has urged civilians to stay in safe locations away from military forces and to prepare bomb shelters for protection against aerial attacks. The continued violence against civilians, particularly the targeting of schools and residential areas, demonstrates the military council’s disregard for civilian safety and their own announced ceasefire.
