The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) has reported that four civilians were killed and twelve others were injured when the military council conducted airstrikes using Y-12 aircraft on villages in Sagaing and Sintgaung Townships in Mandalay Region. On September 21, around 2 PM, the military council launched an airstrike on Kyaukphya village in Sagaing Township, resulting in the death of four civilians and injuries to ten others. The attack also caused significant damage to local residents’ homes and properties.
On the same day, around 1 PM, the military council conducted two separate airstrikes on Nagamauk Mountain in Sintgaung Township, causing injuries to two civilians. These aerial attacks have caused widespread fear among local residents, forcing many to flee their homes and seek shelter elsewhere. The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) and local resistance groups are providing support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in camps across Mattaya Township, Sintgaung Township, and Sagaing Township. Their assistance includes offering words of encouragement, providing healthcare services, and distributing essential food supplies and clothing to those in need.
Previously, on September 13, the military council had conducted another airstrike using Y-12 aircraft on Nyaungpin Thar village and Kyaukphya village in Sagaing Township, which resulted in the deaths of seven civilians, including two children. Revolutionary forces have reported that these continuous airstrikes on civilian areas have led to ongoing casualties and injuries among innocent civilians. The attacks have highlighted the military council’s continued use of airpower against civilian populations, causing widespread displacement and humanitarian concerns in the affected regions.
