Military council forces conducted an unprovoked airstrike using two fighter jets on Say Wa village in Pauk Township, Magway Region, resulting in the death of five civilians and leaving several others injured, according to local residents. The aerial attack occurred in the afternoon of August 22, deliberately targeting the village despite there being no active fighting in the area. According to local residents, villagers have been forced to flee to safer locations due to fears of subsequent attacks following the airstrike. Additionally, on August 21, a Y-12 aircraft from Tataoo Air Base conducted an attack on villages in eastern Pauk Township, dropping twenty-nine bombs. While no civilian casualties were reported in that incident, entire villages were forced to evacuate.
On August 18 and 19, military forces also conducted airstrikes on villages in Pauk and Seikphyu Townships, resulting in the deaths of 11 innocent civilians. These deliberate aerial attacks on non-combat areas have severely disrupted the daily lives of local residents and caused widespread fear and panic.
