
The terrorist military’s attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and damage to homes and schools in Shwegyin, Moe, Kyaukkyi, Myingyan, and Sintguu townships. According to the KNU Central Committee, military attacks using heavy weapons and drones in KNU-controlled territories within Bago Region’s Nyaunglebin District have injured three civilians and damaged one house and one school.
On September 17 at 4:30 PM, Infantry Battalion 20 based in Nyaunglebin launched drone strikes on Kokmetsu village in Shwegyin Township, destroying one house. Similarly, on September 9 at 11:30 AM, the military fired an 81mm artillery shell that exploded in Nyaungpintha village, injuring a 5-year-old child. On September 10 at 3:58 PM, Infantry Battalion 351 based in Shwegyin fired a howitzer shell that landed in Thitchaseik village, injuring 53-year-old Daw Moe Khaing.
On September 15 at 3:00 PM, Infantry Battalion 351 in Shwegyin fired a 120mm artillery shell that exploded in Teinpin village, injuring Saw Ma Htoo. Later that day at 4:25 PM, the same battalion fired another 120mm shell that landed near Phayesi village, damaging one house and killing one pig. In Kyaukkyi Township, on September 9 at 4:50 PM, military forces at Natthankhwin fired a 120mm artillery shell that landed in the Nyaungtan village school compound, causing minor damage to the school building.
In Mandalay Region, military airstrikes also resulted in civilian casualties. On September 22 at 5:00 AM, the military conducted an airstrike using powered parachutes on Khatlun village in Myingyan Township, injuring 12-year-old Maung Ye Linn Naing, 19-year-old Sai Linn Htet, and 55-year-old Daw Than Ngwe. On September 21 at 12:50 PM, the military dropped cluster bombs between Yatkansintaung and Kyauknga Nwa villages in Sintguu Township. While no injuries were reported from this bombing, one of the bombs failed to detonate.
