A representative from the Dawn Combat Force (LPDF) has confirmed that the military council is conducting continuous airstrikes on four villages, including Kanpyar and Thitkauk Taung villages, in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region. The aerial attacks began on the morning of March 31, resulting in civilian casualties, though the exact number of injured persons could not be immediately verified. The military council’s aircraft have been repeatedly targeting these areas, causing significant concern among local residents.
In a separate incident on March 29, at approximately 2 PM, resistance forces launched a mine attack against military council troops who were traveling for a checkpoint rotation in Taungdwingyi Township, Magway Region. The attack occurred along the Yoma route and resulted in numerous casualties among military council soldiers. The operation was jointly carried out by several resistance groups, including the Punnyawadi People’s Defense Force (Taungdwingyi Township), Tharrawaddy District Battalion 5 (Sinpaywae Township), Southern Magway People’s Defense Force, Bissanur People’s Defense Force (Taungdwingyi Township), and the Magway Guerrilla Force.
During the engagement, military council reinforcements arrived at the scene and responded with heavy artillery fire. However, the resistance forces managed to withdraw without suffering any casualties. The ongoing airstrikes by the military council have caused widespread fear among local residents, with many being forced to flee to safer locations. The situation continues to highlight the military council’s use of disproportionate force against civilian areas, leading to displacement and humanitarian concerns in the affected regions.
