
The Karen National Union (KNU) Central has reported that two civilians were injured and houses were damaged when the military council forces launched artillery attacks on villages in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region. On March 17, the military council troops fired two 120mm artillery shells from Nat Than Kwin camp, which landed and exploded in Phoe Ta village and Chaung Wa village. The attacks injured 61-year-old Daw Hla Hla Htwe and 32-year-old Ma Soe Soe Ma, while four civilian houses were destroyed in the incident.
In Kyaikto Township, Mon State, the military forces also attacked villages using heavy weapons and drones, resulting in forest fires. On March 15 at approximately 10:45 AM, troops based at Battalion 122 launched a suicide drone attack from Kwali Reservoir Hill, which exploded in the Kyauk Me Haung area between Mye Yone Gyi village and Kadaing Dut village in the Win Kalaw village tract, causing forest fires. Similarly, on March 16 at 1:07 PM, the military council’s Artillery Unit 310 fired an artillery shell at civilian workplaces near Sin Twin village.
Additionally, in Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, the military council conducted an airstrike on Saw Bwar Yay Shin village. According to local residents, the military council troops carried out the aerial bombardment on March 20 at around 11:30 PM. Authorities are currently investigating whether there were any civilian casualties from this attack. These incidents demonstrate the military council’s continued use of heavy weapons and aerial attacks against civilian areas, resulting in injuries, property damage, and displacement of local populations.
