
The Karen National Union (KNU) Central Committee has reported that two civilians were injured and houses were damaged when the terrorist military council forces launched artillery attacks on villages in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region. On March 17, the military council troops fired two 120mm artillery shells from Nat Than Kwin camp, which landed and exploded in Phoe Ta village and Chaung Wa village. The attacks injured 61-year-old Daw Hla Hla Htwe and 32-year-old Ma Soe Soe Ma, while also destroying four civilian homes.
In Kyaikto Township, Mon State, the terrorist military also conducted attacks using heavy weapons and drones on villages. On March 15 at approximately 10:45 AM, troops from Battalion 122 launched a suicide drone attack from Kwali Reservoir Hill, which exploded between Myakaungyi village and Kadaingdut village in the Win Kalaw village tract area known as Kyaukmae Haung, causing forest fires. Additionally, on March 16 at 1:07 PM, the terrorist military’s Artillery Unit 310 fired an artillery shell at civilian workplaces near Sintwing village.
In Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, the terrorist military also conducted an airstrike on Sawbwar Yayshin village. Local residents reported that military council troops carried out the aerial bombardment on March 20 at around 11:30 PM, and investigations are ongoing to determine if there were any civilian casualties. These artillery attacks and airstrikes by the terrorist military have caused widespread fear among local residents, forcing many to flee their homes and seek shelter elsewhere.
