In U Shit Pin town of Pantaung Township, Bago Region, Ward Administrator Aung Ko of Pyitawtha Ward is forcing local residents to cook meals and send them to military forces on the frontline. According to local residents, the administrator is compelling people to take turns cooking meals by street, claiming that military council troops are starving in the ongoing battles on the Bago Yoma range, with soldiers reportedly surviving only on pickled bamboo shoots and three dried fish. The administrator has implemented a rotation system where residents must cook food and deliver it to the administrator’s office.
Currently, residents of Pyitawtha Ward are being forced to cook meals on a daily rotation basis due to the administrator’s coercion, and they must deliver the prepared food to the administrator’s office. The battles taking place on the Bago Yoma range are extremely intense, with the military council suffering heavy casualties. Remaining military council soldiers are reportedly experiencing low morale, with many deserting or returning to the rear without orders. The situation has become increasingly difficult for military forces in the area.
Due to the military’s losses, administrators, hundred-household heads, and some civilians in U Shit Pin town are being made to organize food donations by ward to show support for the military. Military council gambling den operators and gamblers are also collecting donations for soldiers, including bottled water, soft drinks, dried fish, fermented fish paste, betel leaves, and dried noodles. Local residents express frustration at being forced to provide labor and cook meals for the military council against their will, while being compelled to support forces they do not align with ideologically.
