In U Shit Pin town of Pantaung Township, Bago Region, Ward Administrator Aung Ko of Pyitawtha Ward is forcing local residents to cook meals and deliver food packages to the frontline battlefield. According to local sources, the administrator is compelling civilians to cook meals for military council troops who are reportedly starving in the ongoing battles on the Bago Yoma range, claiming the soldiers only have access to gourd pulp and three dried fish for sustenance.
Currently, residents of Pyitawtha Ward are being forced to take turns cooking meals by street, following Administrator Aung Ko’s coercive orders. The prepared food must be delivered to the administrator’s office. The battles taking place on the Bago Yoma range are reportedly intense, with high casualties on the military council’s side. Sources indicate that remaining military council soldiers are experiencing low morale, with many deserting or returning to the rear without orders.
Due to the military’s significant losses, administrators, hundred-household heads, and civilians in U Shit Pin town are being compelled to organize food packages by ward to create an appearance of public support for the military. Military council supporters and gamblers are also collecting donations for the soldiers, including bottled water, soft drinks, dried fish, fermented fish paste, betel leaves, and dried noodles. While local residents are frustrated by being forced into this involuntary labor, they find it difficult to refuse due to potential consequences. The situation reflects the ongoing pattern of the military council coercing civilian support for their operations while facing increasing battlefield losses and declining troop morale.
