
Residents of Kyin village in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, have been forced to flee their homes as military forces launched operations and set fire to houses in their village on May 28. According to local residents, the military forces entered the village in the afternoon and began burning civilian homes, causing thousands of villagers to evacuate to safety. The exact extent of damage to residential properties remains unclear as residents are unable to return to assess the situation.
Although the military forces have withdrawn from the village after burning houses, civilians are still unable to return to their homes due to safety concerns. Meanwhile, thousands of residents from villages along the border of Myaing Township and Pakokku Township in Magway Region have also been forced to flee their homes as military forces conduct operations in the area, according to the We Love Myaing group and local residents.
The military forces, which had entered the Pyu Saw Htee camp in Nyaung Gyat Pin village in Pakokku Township on May 27, left the village on the morning of May 28 and proceeded to launch operations in Mankyandar village, located on the border of Pakokku and Myaing Townships, around 2 PM. The military forces continue to maintain their presence around Mankyandar village, forcing thousands of local residents to remain displaced from their homes as they seek safety in other areas.
