
Villages in Ingapu Township, Ayeyarwady Region, are under continuous aerial bombardment by the military council forces, resulting in civilian casualties, destruction of homes by fire, and forcing entire villages to evacuate. On the morning of May 15, the military council forces conducted an airstrike on a school in Kyingaikkwin village, Ingapu Township, dropping one bomb. They also targeted the Shwe Nya Myay betel shop near the 31 Sawmill with another bomb, resulting in the shop being destroyed by fire.
Later that evening, around 9:30 PM, mechanized paratroopers from Battalion 5 in Kwingauk launched additional airstrikes on Bepyarkone village, Sasikwin village, and Kyingaikkwin village. On May 16, at approximately 8:30 PM, two aircraft conducted further airstrikes targeting Wartawkwin village, Kyetpaungkone village, and Thanpayarkone village. The exact number of civilian casualties from these aerial attacks has not yet been confirmed due to the ongoing nature of the attacks and the displacement of local residents.
Due to the continuous airstrikes by military council forces, residents from Bepyarkone village, Sasikwin village, Kyingaikkwin village, Wartawkwin village, Kyetpaungkone village, and Thanpayarkone village have been forced to flee to safer locations. Even the military council-appointed administrators have fled the area. According to local sources, while there are reports of civilian casualties from the attacks, the exact situation on the ground cannot be verified at present due to the systematic targeting of villages by military council forces, which has caused residents to flee in fear. The continuous aerial bombardment of civilian areas has created a humanitarian crisis as villagers seek refuge from the military council’s attacks.
