
The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) Information Department has reported that a civilian was injured when the military council forces fired artillery shells at Lon Way village in Naung Cho Township, northern Shan State. On June 10th evening, the military council forces launched an artillery attack using two howitzer shells on Lon Way village in Naung Cho Township, Kyaukme District, Ta’ang Region, Military Region 3. The attack resulted in injuries to 52-year-old U Kyaw Min, who was hit by artillery shell fragments and was subsequently evacuated for medical treatment by TNLA forces.
Additionally, the military council forces fired another artillery shell at Lon San village in Naung Cho Township. On June 4th, the military council’s artillery attack on the market ward in Naung Cho town resulted in injuries to four civilians and damaged two houses and a Kambawza monastery. Continuous clashes have been occurring between military council forces and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army in Naung Cho Township. On June 9th morning, fighting broke out between Pein Ne Kone and Kan Gyi villages after the military council launched an offensive, during which they fired 27 artillery shells, according to TNLA’s statement.
On June 8th, battles erupted when the military attacked Shauk Chan village, Kan Gyi village, and Let Pan Kone village in Naung Cho Township. During these engagements, the military deployed 12 drone-dropped bombs and fired 18 artillery shells. Despite the Northern Brotherhood Alliance’s June 2nd announcement extending their unilateral ceasefire for another month to facilitate humanitarian assistance for earthquake victims, the military council continues to conduct offensive operations, reinforce troops, launch drone strikes, and carry out aerial and artillery attacks in Naung Cho Township. The TNLA has urged civilians to remain vigilant against military attacks and follow air raid protection measures for their safety.
