
The Karen National Union (KNU) Central has reported that one civilian was injured and two houses along with a school were damaged due to airstrikes and artillery attacks by the military council in Shwegyin Township (Saw Htee Township), Bago Region. On March 15 at 1:50 PM, fighter jets from the military council’s air force based in Naypyidaw conducted an airstrike on Thettunkone village in Shwegyin Township, dropping two 300-pound bombs. The attack resulted in severe injuries to a 50-year-old male resident of Thettunkone village and caused significant damage to one house and the village school.
Additionally, on March 14 at 1:54 PM, the military council’s Infantry Battalion 264 fired three 120mm artillery shells into Kanyin Kyun village in Shwegyin Township, resulting in the destruction of one house. According to the KNU’s statement, civilians living in the Klerwehtoo District are facing daily struggles with fear for their lives as the military council continues to deliberately target civilian populations with acts of violence. Local residents report that the military council is intentionally targeting civilian homes, educational facilities, and infrastructure, posing serious threats to the safety and property of innocent civilians in the area.
