
The terrorist military forces conducted airstrikes using Y-12 aircraft on villages in the eastern part of Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in four civilian deaths and eight injuries. The attack, which occurred around 6:15 AM on August 20, involved the dropping of more than 30 bombs, according to local sources. The bombardment also caused significant damage to civilian homes and infrastructure in the targeted areas.
In Mandalay Region’s Thaung Tha Township, the military also launched attacks on eastern villages using helicopters from the Meiktila Air Base. The assault began around 2:25 AM on August 20, with six bombs being dropped on the area. While no casualties were reported in this incident, local residents were forced to flee their homes in fear of further attacks. The military’s actions have created a climate of terror among the civilian population in these areas.
The military forces also targeted villages in Kyaukme Township, Northern Shan State, dropping two 250-pound bombs from aircraft and firing 11 artillery shells. The attacks, which took place on August 19, resulted in the destruction of six houses across Pin Tein village, Naung Pein village, and Kyaung Kone village, according to a statement from the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). Local residents reported that these attacks were deliberately carried out against civilian areas where no fighting had taken place, demonstrating the military’s continued targeting of civilian populations.
