
According to local residents and statements from the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the military council has been conducting continuous airstrikes in Kyaukme Township, northern Shan State, which is under TNLA control. On August 30th at 9:48 PM and 9:50 PM, the military council conducted airstrikes on Nar Kaw village in Kyaukme Township, dropping two 250-pound bombs. The attack resulted in the destruction of four residential houses in the village.
The military council has been advancing towards Kyaukme town with ground forces while frequently conducting airstrikes, leading to continuous civilian casualties. On August 29th, despite the absence of any active fighting, the military council launched an airstrike on Pan Thapyay village in Mong Long town, Kyaukme Township, dropping four 250-pound bombs. This attack resulted in casualties among nuns, Buddhist monks, and civilians, while destroying four houses, five monastery buildings, and one religious hall.
Also on August 29th, around 2 PM, the military council fired heavy artillery at Khite Tun Hawng village in Kyaukme Township, killing a 51-year-old internally displaced person, U Soe Maung, who was struck by artillery fire. On August 24th in the afternoon, the military council conducted an airstrike on Lon Kyeim (Kyaung Kone) village using 500-pound bombs, resulting in the deaths of two civilians.
On August 21st, without any ongoing conflict, the military council launched attacks using two 250-pound bombs from the air and fired 11 artillery shells, destroying six civilian homes. On August 20th, an airstrike on Pin Tee monastery in Pin Tee village, Kyaukme Township, resulted in the deaths of 10 internally displaced civilians and left 12 others severely injured.
