
A representative from the Kamma Region Revolutionary Alliance has confirmed that military council forces conducted 13 consecutive days of airstrikes and ground operations in villages around Kamma town in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, resulting in 5 civilian deaths and 14 severe injuries. On June 14th afternoon, the military council launched a coordinated attack using 4 fighter jets, deploying 3 cluster bombs and 10 rockets simultaneously targeting villages in the Kamma region.
Furthermore, on the evening of June 16th, the military council forces conducted another airstrike using fighter jets, dropping two 500-pound bombs that hit a monastery where internally displaced civilians were seeking shelter. These aerial attacks resulted in the death of 2 civilians and left 14 others, including children, severely wounded. The attacks also caused significant damage to religious structures, including pagodas, and civilian homes in the area.
Military council troops who entered Kamma town have detained more than 15 civilians from Shwelan village, Yozayat village, and Kamma Chaung village, with three of the detained civilians being subsequently killed. The military forces continue to maintain their presence in Kamma town, carrying out arrests, executions, and aerial bombardments. The Kamma Region Revolutionary Alliance official has warned local residents to remain extremely vigilant due to the ongoing military operations and threats to civilian safety. The military council forces are reportedly using various aircraft including paramotors, drones, Y-12 aircraft, and fighter jets for daily airstrikes against villages and displaced civilians in the Kamma region, while also engaging in looting of civilian property, making death threats, and torturing and killing detained civilians.
