
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office located along Aung Mingalar Don Road in Insein Township, Yangon Region, was attacked with a large remote-controlled mine on the evening of March 19. According to a spokesperson from the Rangoon Urban Column, several security personnel on guard duty were injured in the attack, with those severely wounded being transported to the hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred around 8:00 PM on March 19, after which military council forces implemented heightened security measures in the area. Local residents from Insein Township reported that starting from 8:30 PM, military and police forces conducted extensive vehicle checks along Aung Mingalar Don Road. The security checks continued until 9:00 PM, with thorough inspections of all passing vehicles, including private cars and taxis, particularly in the vicinity of the CID office and the Red Office area. Local witnesses confirmed that the security forces carried out detailed examinations of all vehicles passing through the area during this period.
The Rangoon Urban Column has requested residents of Yangon to contribute to strengthening ground intelligence by contacting their Telegram address to share local information. They emphasized the importance of public cooperation in receiving real-time updates about military council troop movements, security checks, and other relevant information. The group has also warned civilians to exercise caution in their movements, as such attacks typically result in increased security measures by military council forces throughout the area. The incident highlights the ongoing resistance activities against military council installations in urban areas, while demonstrating the continued tension between resistance forces and the military council in Myanmar’s largest city.
