
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office located along Aung Mingalar Don Road in Insein Township, Yangon Region, was attacked with a large remote-controlled mine on the evening of March 19. According to a spokesperson from the Rangoon Urban Column, the attack resulted in injuries to several security personnel on guard duty, with those severely wounded being transported to the hospital for treatment.
The attack occurred at around 8:00 PM, and following the explosion, military council forces significantly increased security measures in the area. Starting from 8:30 PM, military and police vehicles conducted extensive checkpoints along Aung Mingalar Don Road, according to local residents. The security forces continued their inspections until 9:00 PM, thoroughly checking all passing vehicles, including private cars and taxis. A local resident reported witnessing the military and police forces conducting thorough vehicle searches on both sides of the CID office and near the Red Office area.
The Rangoon Urban Column has requested residents of Yangon to assist in strengthening ground intelligence by contacting their Telegram channel @RUC_info to report local situation updates. This coordination between civilian informants and resistance forces is considered crucial for their operations. The attack is part of ongoing revolutionary activities aimed at dismantling the military dictatorship’s administrative mechanisms. The incident demonstrates the continued resistance against the military council’s control in urban areas, with revolutionary forces maintaining their capability to conduct strategic attacks even in heavily guarded locations.
