
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office located along Aung Mingalar Don Road in Insein Township, Yangon Region, was attacked with a large remote-controlled mine. According to a representative from the Rangoon Urban Column, the attack occurred at 8:00 PM on March 19, resulting in injuries to several security personnel who were on guard duty. One person who sustained severe injuries was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
A local resident from Insein Township reported witnessing intense vehicle inspections being conducted by military and police forces on Aung Mingalar Don Road around 8:30 PM. The security forces were thoroughly checking military vehicles, police vehicles, private cars, and taxis without exception. These inspection activities continued until approximately 9:00 PM, according to the resident’s account. The heightened security measures appeared to be a direct response to the attack on the CID office.
The Rangoon Urban Column has made an appeal to residents of Yangon to strengthen ground intelligence by connecting through their Telegram account. They emphasized that this communication channel would enable more effective monitoring of the situation on the ground and allow for timely responses to developing situations.
