
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office located along Aung Mingalar Don Road in Insein Township, Yangon Region, was attacked with a large remote-controlled mine on the evening of March 19. According to a spokesperson from the Rangoon Urban Column, several security personnel were injured in the attack, with those severely wounded being transported to the hospital. The attack occurred at around 8:00 PM, targeting the No. 2 Criminal Investigation Department branch office.
Following the attack, military council forces and police set up checkpoints along Aung Mingalar Don Road, conducting extensive vehicle searches. A local resident confirmed that military vehicles and police cars were stopping and searching private vehicles and taxis from approximately 8:30 PM until 9:00 PM. The security measures were implemented immediately after the explosion, though the exact nature and extent of the damage caused by the attack were not immediately clear. The heightened security presence in the area demonstrated the military council’s response to the incident.
