The Chin Brotherhood Alliance officially announced on April 9 that they have successfully captured and secured control over the entire Falam Township. The alliance confirmed the final capture of the military council’s last remaining Infantry Battalion 268, effectively making Falam Township a military council-free territory. During the operation, they seized numerous heavy weapons, ammunition, and significant financial resources from the military council forces.
The offensive to capture Falam town began on November 9, 2024, as part of Operation CB by the Chin Brotherhood Alliance. The military council attempted to defend the town by reinforcing Infantry Battalion 268 with additional troops, including approximately 100 soldiers from Infantry Battalion 89 in December 2024 and another 100 troops from Infantry Battalion 391 under Division 77 in March 2025. The military council also launched over 1,000 airstrikes in their attempts to maintain control of the area.
The operation involved multiple revolutionary forces including 96 Soldiers PDF, Anti-Fascist Internationalist Front (AIF), Burma National Revolutionary Army (BNRA), Burmese Revolutionary Technical Front (BRTF), Generation Z Army (GZA), Giant Revolution Force (GRF), Harmonious Northern Brothers (HNB), Kalay Revolution Force (KRF), Kalay Urban Guerrilla, Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT), National Liberation Army (NLA), Revolution Ambulance Wolf Medical Team, Sagaing Federal Troop, Yaw Defense Force (YDF), Zo Army (ZA), Kalay District PDF, and Drone units.
The Chin Brotherhood Alliance attributed their success in liberating Falam Township to the unwavering determination of the alliance and allied forces, the support from the Arakan Army with weapons, ammunition, and military strategic advice, and the unified support from the local population. The alliance also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives, the wounded soldiers, and acknowledged the courage and perseverance of all commanders and troops who fought bravely until victory was achieved. The announcement concluded with the alliance’s commitment to continue fighting alongside their allies for the complete elimination of the military dictatorship and the establishment of a federal democratic union.
