Since early March, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has been conducting offensive operations to capture all remaining military council bases in Banmaw City. In response, the military council has been carrying out airstrikes targeting not only military positions but also civilian areas in their attempts to prevent the fall of their bases. These attacks on civilian populations have caused widespread fear and forced local residents to flee to safer locations. The ongoing aerial bombardment campaign has significantly impacted civilian life in the region, with many families seeking shelter in evacuation sites.
