On March 28, during the afternoon, an earthquake caused the collapse of Shwe Muse Restaurant and a residential building located between 70th and 71st streets on 36th Street in Mandalay, with at least four people reported trapped inside. According to local residents, the building collapsed onto another house on its western side.
More than an hour after the incident, rescue operations have not been effectively implemented, with only one firefighter, a ward administrator, and some hundred-household heads present at the scene.
