In downtown Yangon, the Yangon Revolution Force staged a demonstration using blood-stained school bags and textbooks to raise global awareness about the terrorist military council’s brutal actions. This activity aimed to document and bring international attention to the crimes being committed by the military council against children and the education sector. In particular, the demonstration sought to highlight to the global community how the military council has been deliberately targeting schools in airstrikes.
Recently, on May 12, the military council conducted an airstrike on a school in Ohtein Kone village, Depayin Township, Sagaing Region, killing 20 innocent children and 2 teachers, while many others were injured. These brutal and savage acts are destroying the education and future of children across Myanmar. The military council is not only violating children’s rights but also ruthlessly destroying their lives, homes, and property.
This demonstration using blood-stained school bags serves not only to document the military council’s crimes but also as a call for the international community to take action against the war crimes being committed against children. The military council continues to kill innocent civilians while also denying children their right to education. Therefore, international community intervention is now necessary to stop these inhumane acts and ensure justice is served.
