The Kalay People’s Strike Leading Committee and Kalay Main Strike Force conducted a Black Clothing Campaign on April 4 to protest against the military leader’s attendance at the BIMSTEC meeting. The campaign also called for an immediate halt to airstrikes against civilians who are currently suffering from earthquake disasters.
According to a statement released by the Kalay People’s Strike Leading Committee, the military council not only restricts humanitarian aid to earthquake victims but also continues to conduct airstrikes. The committee strongly condemned the military leader’s attendance at the BIMSTEC meeting, which they view as an attempt to maintain a facade of normal international relations while continuing to oppress the people.
Participants in the Black Clothing Campaign wore black attire and peacefully demonstrated, demanding an end to the military council’s violence, calling for unhindered humanitarian assistance to earthquake victims, and urging the international community not to recognize the military council. This movement represents the people’s voice against the military council’s illegal coup and its ongoing violence against civilians.
