
A prayer ceremony marking the 80th birthday of people’s leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was held at Sunshiner Myanmar Restaurant in Daegu, South Korea. The ceremony was attended by Buddhist monks from Daegu, Myanmar citizens, and South Korean nationals. During the prayer ceremony, the venerable monk from Daegu offered special prayers for the release of both the people’s leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all Myanmar citizens who have been unjustly detained.
Attendees at the ceremony collectively prayed for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s health, longevity, and liberation, while demonstrating their continued support for Myanmar’s democracy movement. The Myanmar community in Daegu has been consistently supporting the struggle for democracy in Myanmar and calling for international community cooperation to end the military dictatorship system.
