
The Fire Dragon Force has announced that a military officer was killed during clashes with resistance forces near Tawrala Monastery in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region. The incident occurred on July 12 at approximately 8:40 AM when military council troops from the monastery in Upper Pyuzunmyaing village advanced towards Tawrala Monastery, using heavy weapons including RPGs, 40mm, and 60mm mortars. This aggressive movement led to an engagement with local People’s Defense Forces.
During the battle, Infantry Battalion 20 from Nyaunglebin provided artillery support to the military council forces, while the Tapyat Bridge checkpoint launched drone strikes in support of the operation. The resistance forces from People’s Defense Force Battalion 3703 – Fire Dragon Force successfully engaged the military forces without suffering any casualties. The military council confirmed the death of one of their officers during the confrontation. The battle demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in defending against military council operations.
Simultaneously, in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, resistance forces successfully conducted an interceptive attack against a combined force of over 100 troops from Infantry Battalion 361 and Pyu Saw Htee militia members who had established a base at Kokkyipin Monastery. According to the PDF Voice announcement, while the military council forces suffered casualties during this engagement, the exact numbers could not be immediately verified. Following the battle, the military council troops retreated towards the Ngapyawdaing-Myirhone area.
The operation in Kanbalu was carried out through coordination between the Kanbalu Township PDF Combat Unit and a company from Kanbalu District Battalion (3). The resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties. These engagements represent ongoing resistance activities across the country as People’s Defense Forces continue their struggle against the military regime. The successful operations demonstrate the growing tactical capabilities of resistance forces and their ability to effectively coordinate attacks against military council positions while minimizing their own casualties.
