A senior official from the People’s Defense Force’s Southern Command has confirmed that following a clash with military council forces in Minhla Township, Bago Region, they seized 11 weapons, ammunition, and recovered 10 bodies of military soldiers. The confrontation occurred when approximately 70 military council troops entered the area. The military column initially entered Sarchaung village in Minhla Township at 5:10 AM on April 27, and by 7:30 AM, they were advancing from Ngamoeheip village toward Zaritmaung village.
During their advance, they encountered resistance from the People’s Defense Force Strategy 22 and allied forces, resulting in an intense battle that lasted approximately two and a half hours. Despite the military council deploying two fighter jets for air support during the engagement, the resistance forces successfully inflicted significant casualties. Following the battle, resistance forces recovered 10 bodies of military soldiers, 10 small arms, one 60mm weapon, various ammunition, and military equipment. The successful operation demonstrated the effectiveness of coordinated resistance efforts against military council movements in the region.
The operation involved multiple resistance units, including Battalions 3701, 3801, 3802, and 3803 under PDF Strategy 22, along with the Asho Chin Defense Force (ACDF) and other local defense alliance forces. This coordinated effort represents a significant achievement in the ongoing resistance against military council operations in the area, according to resistance officials. The successful seizure of military equipment and weapons marks an important tactical victory for the resistance forces in their continuing struggle against the military council’s presence in the region.
