A spokesperson from the Nagaphyu PDF Column reported that four military council soldiers were killed in an attack on junta forces who were disguised as People’s Defense Force (PDF) members and lying in ambush along the Yangon-Mawlamyine road. The clash began at approximately 11:26 AM on March 6 along the Kyaikto-Bilin section of the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway, where military forces wearing PDF uniforms had positioned themselves to provide security for a military convoy.
The confrontation continued until 12:55 PM, resulting in four casualties on the military side, including one officer, and at least four others were wounded. The resistance forces also suffered losses, with one revolutionary fighter making the ultimate sacrifice and two others sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The military council forces had attempted to deceive the resistance groups by wearing PDF uniforms during their operations.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Nagaphyu PDF Column and the 4 Thyapyinyo Column of Battalion 7805. Officials from the Nagaphyu PDF Column have pledged to continue fighting until the revolution succeeds, honoring the sacrifice of their fallen comrade known as Demon. They also issued warnings to all resistance groups to remain vigilant against the military’s deceptive tactics and emphasized the importance of maintaining heightened security measures for all members. The military’s strategy of impersonating PDF members has created additional challenges for resistance forces in identifying friend from foe during operations.
