A clash occurred between the terrorist military council troops and revolutionary forces near Thaung Long village in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, resulting in one casualty from the military council side, according to a responsible official from the Fire Dragon Column. The confrontation took place around 6:10 PM on June 18, when military council troops based in Nyaung Pin Pauk village attempted to advance towards Thaung Long village. The revolutionary forces from Battalion 3703 Fire Dragon Unit engaged with the incoming military troops, leading to direct combat.
During the engagement, one military council soldier was killed while the revolutionary forces successfully withdrew without suffering any casualties. According to the Fire Dragon Column official, while approximately 70 military council troops are stationed in Nyaung Pin Pauk village, only a small contingent participated in this particular operation. The military council troops retrieved their fallen soldier’s body, preventing the revolutionary forces from securing it as evidence of the casualty. The official noted that the exact number of military council troops involved in the operation could not be determined due to their limited deployment.
Following the battle, the military council troops from both Yeikyi Stream checkpoint and Nyaung Pin Pauk camp responded by launching heavy artillery attacks targeting civilian areas. Although no civilian casualties were reported from these indiscriminate attacks, the local population experienced significant fear and disruption to their daily lives. The ongoing military operations and artillery attacks have created an atmosphere of increasing concern among local residents, who worry about deteriorating security conditions in their area. The military council’s aggressive actions continue to impact civilian safety and well-being, causing widespread anxiety among the local population about potential escalation of violence in their region.
