In Yayantaw village of Oaktwin Township, Bago Region, resistance forces from the Taungoo Special Urban Guerrilla Force attacked and killed village administrator Myint Aung, who had been forcibly recruiting young people for military service. The incident occurred on March 11 in the evening when resistance members entered a beer shop where Myint Aung was sitting and opened fire. According to resistance officials, the administrator was targeted because he had been collaborating with the military council to forcibly conscript civilians, extort money from arrested individuals, intimidate impoverished residents, and hand over day laborers to the military council after arresting them as porters.
Following the attack, a 30-minute firefight broke out between resistance forces and military council troops who had come to retrieve the body. While the resistance fighters managed to safely retreat to liberated territory, they lost two firearms during the engagement. After the battle, military council soldiers reportedly arrested one civilian without cause. A spokesperson from the Taungoo Special Urban Guerrilla Force stated that they would continue to target military council collaborators with clear distinction between friend and foe, maintaining their operations without personal bias.
