A spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Yay-U Township has confirmed that two military council soldiers were killed during an attack on junta troops who were stationed inside a tractor factory in Yay-U, Sagaing Region. The incident occurred on April 30 at approximately 11:27 AM when the People’s Defense Force launched an offensive against about 25 military council troops inside the Yay-U tractor factory. The resistance forces initiated the attack using an 80mm homemade artillery weapon for long-range strikes, while PDF members who had taken up pre-positioned locations conducted close-range attacks with small arms.
According to the PDF commander, two military council soldiers sustained severe injuries and died during the engagement, though the exact extent of other damages could not be immediately verified. The PDF has also issued warnings to local civilians to avoid staying in areas closest to where military council troops are present. This attack represents another instance of resistance forces taking direct action against military council positions in the Sagaing Region.
Meanwhile, in Pakokku Township of Magway Region, thousands of civilians have been forced to flee their homes due to ongoing military operations in the area. Starting from the evening of April 28, military council forces have split into three columns and entered Pakokku Township. The military movement involves troops from both the Shin Ma Kan camp and urban-based forces, who have combined their operations. With approximately 400 military personnel divided into three columns advancing through the area, residents from all villages along their route have been forced to evacuate to safer locations. The military’s presence and movement have created a humanitarian situation with mass displacement of civilian populations, highlighting the ongoing crisis faced by Myanmar’s citizens due to military operations.
