
The Myanmar community in Italy celebrated the 80th birthday of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi with a special ceremony at Piazza Duomo in Milan on June 19 at 1:00 PM. During the event, 80 beautiful roses were distributed to 80 attendees as a symbolic gesture marking her 80th birthday, accompanied by birthday wishes and expressions of solidarity.
Additionally, a commemorative walk was organized at Break Heart Reservation in Boston, United States, to mark the 80th birthday of Aung San Suu Kyi, who is currently under detention. The event featured an 80-minute walking campaign led by the Citizen of Burma Award – New England organization, drawing numerous supporters and admirers of Aung San Suu Kyi.
Participants in the walking event showed their support for the Flower Strike movement by wearing flowers, while also offering birthday wishes for Aung San Suu Kyi. The attendees demonstrated their backing for Aung San Suu Kyi’s democratic movement and expressed their continued support for Myanmar’s democracy movement. The events in both locations served as powerful demonstrations of international solidarity with Myanmar’s democratic aspirations and its detained leader.
