A spokesperson from the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) has confirmed that three 107mm rockets struck the Northwestern Command Headquarters (NaCaKa) in Monywa, Sagaing Region, at 10:10 PM on June 14. The attack resulted in confirmed hits within the military compound, causing damage to the facilities. The strike was specifically timed to coincide with a high-ranking officer’s presence at the headquarters, where a meeting and dinner party were reportedly taking place. All three rockets successfully hit their intended targets within the military compound.
The operation was carried out through a coordinated effort between multiple resistance groups, including Shadow (Monywa) Group, Golden Triangle Alliance Battalion, and Justice Brothers Force, under the leadership of BWM. All resistance fighters involved in the operation successfully withdrew to safety after the attack. The Northwestern Command Headquarters serves as a crucial military installation controlling military council forces across Sagaing Region, northern Magway Region, and Chin State. It has been identified as a key facility responsible for orchestrating various oppressive measures against both revolutionary forces and civilians in these regions. The headquarters has recently expanded its capabilities to include mechanized paratroopers and drone operations, which have been used to target both resistance forces and civilians.
This attack was designated as BWM’s Mission 41, specifically targeting the facility due to its role in coordinating military operations against civilian populations. The timing of the attack was deliberately chosen to coincide with celebration events at the headquarters, with the intention of creating a persistent sense of insecurity and vulnerability among military council personnel. BWM has expressed particular gratitude to local revolutionary forces who provided crucial support for the successful execution of this mission. The organization has stated that they, along with their allies, will continue to target major military installations and air force facilities of the military council, acting on behalf of the civilian population. The attack demonstrates the growing capabilities of resistance forces to strike at significant military targets, even within heavily fortified areas.
