A spokesperson from the Pakokku Special Task Force has confirmed that an attack on military and police forces stationed at the Myanmar Railways Concrete Sleeper Factory in Pakokku, Magway Region, resulted in the deaths of four police officers and the seizure of weapons and ammunition. The attack occurred around 1:40 AM on September 22, when revolutionary forces launched a planned assault on the military forces stationed inside the Myanmar Railways Concrete Sleeper Factory near Pakokku Railway Station.
During the attack, four police officers from the military council’s side were killed, and the revolutionary forces successfully captured one G3 rifle, one 7.62mm carbine rifle, one AK rifle, and 50 rounds of ammunition. The resistance forces were able to withdraw successfully without sustaining any casualties, according to officials. The operation was carried out by seven revolutionary fighters led by Bo Dee from Pakokku Township Battalion 1.
A representative from the Pakokku Special Task Force explained that this attack was conducted as a demonstration of opposition to the military council’s planned sham election. They also issued warnings to local civilians not to participate in the upcoming election being organized according to the military council’s wishes. The revolutionary forces have declared their commitment to continue fighting until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system. This operation represents part of their ongoing resistance against the military council’s attempts to maintain control through illegitimate electoral processes.
